The first casino in the Middle East
Wynn is building Wynn Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, 80 km north of Dubai airport on a 60-hectare island. It will be the first casino resort in the Middle East.
The company confirmed a September 2027 opening. The project costs approximately $5.1 billion and will hold 1,530 rooms, suites and residences.
It is the first development to receive a commercial gaming facility licence from the UAE's General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority, a body created specifically to license this category. Regional conflict has added roughly $600 million in cost through supply chain and personnel disruption.
The significance is larger than one resort. A licensed casino in the Gulf creates a regulated gaming jurisdiction where none existed, and other emirates will be watching what it earns.
