The year's two big stories
WSOP Europe moved to Prague for the first time in its history, running 31 March to 12 April at King's Casino Prague after years at King's Resort in Rozvadov. The €5,300 Main Event carried a €10,000,000 guarantee, a record for European live poker.
The Aussie Millions returned after six years away, running 24 April to 10 May at Crown Melbourne with 18 events and a projected AU$14 million prize pool. It had not been staged since 2020.
The seven series
- World Series of Poker: The oldest and largest poker series, and the only one whose winner is called world champion.
- WSOP Europe: The European bracelet series, which moved to Prague for the first time in 2026.
- European Poker Tour: PokerStars' flagship European tour, and the busiest festival circuit in poker.
- World Poker Tour: The longest-running televised tour, now spread across four continents.
- Asia Pacific Poker Tour: PokerStars' Asian circuit, built around Manila and Korea.
- Aussie Millions: The Southern Hemisphere's flagship series, back in 2026 after six years away.
- Brazilian Series of Poker: South America's largest circuit, closing 2026 with the biggest guarantee in Brazilian poker history.
What a festival actually costs
The buy-in is not the cost. Tournament rake is quoted separately, so a $1,000 + $100 event charges a 10% fee, and across a festival that is the largest single expense most players face.
Watch for overlay, which runs the other way: when entries fall short of a guarantee the organiser makes up the difference and that money is divided among the field. It is one of the few genuinely positive-expectation situations available in a casino.

Dates, venues and prize pools on this page were checked against each organiser's own published material and established poker trade press in August 2026. Tournament schedules move, guarantees change and stops are added or dropped, so the official links above are the authority and this page is the starting point. Where something had not been announced at the time of checking, the page says so rather than guessing.
