About the series
The World Series of Poker has run since 1970 and remains the reference point for the whole game. A bracelet is the sport's most recognised prize and the Main Event champion is, by convention rather than any governing body, called the world champion.
The 2026 series ran 26 May to 15 July at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, across 100 bracelet events. Buy-ins spanned a few hundred dollars to six figures. Formats ran from no-limit hold'em to the mixed-game championships, which draw the smallest and strongest fields of the summer.
The structural change worth noting is the Main Event final table. Play ran 2 to 13 July to reach the final table, and the final table itself was staged 3 to 5 August after a 20-day break. That format, borrowed from the November Nine years, exists to build a broadcast window rather than for any competitive reason, and it changes preparation considerably for the players involved. Lucas Jumalon won it from a field of 9,208 entries, for $10,000,000.
For anyone planning a trip rather than a campaign, the useful thing to know is that the WSOP is not one tournament but a seven-week festival. Smaller bracelet events, daily deepstacks and the enormous cash game economy that grows around the series are all available without a $10,000 buy-in, and the room is fullest in the middle weeks rather than at either end.
When is the WSOP in 2027? As of 12 October 2026 the dates have not been announced. The organiser has followed the same two steps for the last two series: the summer dates in mid-December (18 December 2024 for 2025, 16 December 2025 for 2026), then the full daily schedule in mid-February (17 February 2025, 16 February 2026). So expect the 2027 dates around mid-December 2026 and the schedule around mid-February 2027. The summer series has run from late May to mid-July on the Strip, at Paris Las Vegas and the Horseshoe next door, every year since 2022. The only 2027 WSOP date published so far is the WSOP Super Circuit LATAM, 24 January to 2 February 2027 at Hard Rock Punta Cana. When the organiser publishes the summer dates, the table above is where they will appear.
The year closes with WSOP Paradise, 2 to 17 December, which moves from Atlantis, its home from 2023 to 2025, to Baha Mar in Nassau for 2026. Twenty bracelet events carry $120 million in combined guarantees, the largest total in Paradise's four editions (about $75 million in 2025). Before you enter
Two things are worth checking that have nothing to do with the poker. Tournament rake is quoted separately in the buy-in, so a $1,000 + $100 event carries a 10% fee, and that fee is the largest single cost most tournament players face.

Two formats are worth pricing before you enter them. In a satellite the seat is the prize and the fee is taken whether or not you win it. In a mystery bounty an unopened envelope is worth the bounty pool divided by the envelopes, and nothing more.
