Casino ownership is more concentrated than the branding suggests, and it is moving quickly. Everything below was checked against company statements and trade press in August 2026.
| Operator | Where | Status in August 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| MGM Resorts International | Las Vegas, Macau | Take-private proposed by People Inc. at about $18bn |
| Caesars Entertainment | Las Vegas, Atlantic City | Take-private proposed by Tilman Fertitta at $17.6bn |
| Las Vegas Sands | Macau, Singapore | No Las Vegas property since February 2022 |
| Wynn Resorts | Las Vegas, Macau | Building the Middle East's first casino, opening September 2027 |
| Genting | Las Vegas, Singapore | Singapore licence review due February 2027 |
| The Macau six | Macau | Six concessions, closed since 2022 |
Three things worth knowing
Both Las Vegas giants are going private. MGM has a roughly $18 billion proposal from People Inc., already its largest shareholder, and Caesars has a $17.6 billion offer from Tilman Fertitta. Nevada regulators approved key steps for both in July 2026. Neither has closed, and the Caesars deal alone needs sign-off from an estimated 25 gaming jurisdictions.
Las Vegas Sands owns nothing in Las Vegas. It sold The Venetian, The Palazzo and the Venetian Expo for $6.25 billion in February 2022 and moved the business to Macau and Singapore. Our Sands page covers what it actually operates, which most guides still get wrong.
The first Middle Eastern casino opens in 2027. Wynn is building a $5.1 billion resort on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, opening September 2027 under the first commercial gaming licence the UAE has issued.
Why this matters to a player, and where it does not
Ownership decides comps, loyalty programmes and which properties your play is recorded across. It does not decide the mathematics. A craps pass line costs 1.41% under every logo, and the things that change what you pay are rules printed on the felt.
Our games section computes the house edge for every game we cover, and our comp and theoretical loss entries explain the calculation behind every offer you receive.

Ownership, property counts and transactions on this page were checked against company statements, filings and established gaming trade press in August 2026. Where a deal is proposed rather than completed the page says so, because several of these are mid-transaction and may not close.
